Task: Establish a Brand Identity

01. Create an online presence

I started by verifying the location of Shops at the Hub. I created a Google Business profile and a business email address to accompany it. The profile allowed for customers to have an index of business information and access to customer reviews. online presence

02. Build the website

With 16 shops to choose from information is key for the consumer. The website was a collaborative effort with the shops owners ‘ to showcase what made their shop special. Prospective shoppers can find hours of operations, events, and descriptions of the shops.

03. Launch adverts in print publications

While physical ads are less common, they remain essential in laid-back, beachy tourist towns. Local ads help reach the residents who support shops in the off-season and recommend them to tourists. I launched ads in a local map and newspaper, with plans to expand into more physical and digital spaces in 2025.

04. Engage with the local community

Shops at the Hub has quietly been part of the community for the past decade, but I increased its visibility by hosting an event Called “Paws and Claus” for the Alaqua animal shelter. The event brought together shop owners, volunteers, shoppers, local vendors, and a great cause. In 2025, we plan to host more events to strengthen the shop's community engagement.

Paws and Claus Community Event

Shops at the Hub hosted their first ever event! The event was strategically held the day after Black Friday to capitalize on the high volume of holiday shoppers and tourists in town. This timing was carefully selected to ensure a bustling atmosphere, drawing in a crowd eager to continue their holiday shopping and take advantage of special offers. The event was planned in under three months, an impressive feat considering the amount of groundwork need as the shop center was previously disconnected from the community.
